20 Sep DIY: Gold Trimmed Party Tray
Let’s face it, entertaining can get pretty pricey pretty quickly. In my years of entertaining, I’ve done my fair share of overspending and getting caught up in the planning moment(s) when making purchases for events. Earlier this year I was looking for a marble serving platter to complement a few pieces I already own and just wasn’t willing to spend the $120 for my favorite find. I thought, “Really? there’s nothing to this thing!” My mind got working and I took a trip to Home Depot just to see how much a piece of marble tile would cost me. I-WAS-SHOCKED! I found a 12″x12″ tile for less than $5…so I bought two 🙂 Then, I took my mission a step further and took a trip to Michael’s. Ah, leave it to the lovely Martha Stewart to have few reasonably priced gold gilding products. For about $15 (with coupons) I purchased all the supplies I needed to make my own version of a gold trimmed serving platter. And, I have a little video to show you my process plus, all supplies are listed below. Total cost, less than $20!
Enjoy!
